Beritabali.com.Karangasem. 'Siat Api' or Fire war ritual is an ancient tradition that continues to grow in the village pakraman Duda, Selat, Karangasem district. These ritual is held as an attempt to neutralize the negative forces that exist in the village environment. With the hope that the village community avoid the things that are not desirable. Siat api is usually held before the Usaba Dodol ceremony on 'Sasih Kesange'or the ninth month of Bali, coinciding with the dead moon (Waraspati Tilem) on 'Sasih Kaulu' or the eighth month of Bali. The tradition of fire fighting is carried out at the border of Duda Timur Village with Duda Village, precisely on the Tukad Sang-sang Bridge. The atmosphere becomes sacred because tradition takes place during 'Sandikala' or transition time from day to night.
 
Called war of fire because this tradition resembles war, it's just that used as a weapon is 'Prakpak' that made of old coconut leaves tied up and burned. The weapons used by the man who representatives from both villages to follow the tradition of fire warfare. Siat api is done by punching the prakpak containing the flame to the body of the opponent.
